Hume and Hovel Walking Track
This 426Km track stretches from Yass to Albury and is suitable for day trips, short walks, long distance hikes, trail runners, and ultra-marathon racers alike. Choose to do the whole track or just a small section and surround yourself with Australian sclerophyll forests and sweeping valley views. An ideal spot for a picnic or to simply immerse yourself in nature. The Hume and Hovel Lookout is located approximately 22 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail
A 150Km long trail running from Adelong to Tooma, this trail features sculptures by internationally renowned artists from around the globe as handpicked by a Local Community Advisory Committee. With eight locations to visit, you may like to tie it in with a visit to a nearby winery. The closest site is located approximately 7 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail
One of the must-do activities while in the Snowy Valleys region is the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail. Over 21Km of sealed trail with gentle gradients, this trail is suitable for walking, running, cycling or simply enjoying a gentle stroll. Beautiful scenery awaits alongside historical displays including four restored bridges of historical significance. Located approximately 40 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins
Visit historic gold mill ruins at this heritage listed industrial site. Stop in for a swim at the Adelong Falls during warmer months or enjoy a walk and perhaps a picnic alongside Adelong Creek. Learn about how gold was processed in the mill until 1914 when operations ceased. Located approximately 20 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Paddy’s River Falls
Just a short walk from the carpark will take you to the perfect viewing spot for Paddy’s River Falls. Walk a little further to the bottom of the falls and enjoy a swim during summer or relax with a picnic. Located approximately 45 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Blowering Dam
Home of the world water speed record in 1978, Blowering Dam is one of the largest reservoirs in NSW and is three times the size of Sydney Harbour! The dam is a great spot for fishing, waterskiing, jet boating, canoeing, and kayaking and is surrounded by a variety of walking tracks with varying degrees of difficulty. Located approximately 40 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool
A spring fed natural pool remains a constant 27 degrees Celsius all year round and is surrounded by eucalypt forest. Take a picnic and enjoy one of the nature walks nearby where you may spot platypus or water dragons. You may also like to explore the caves on a self-guided tour. Located approximately 95 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Pilot Hill Arboretum
The arboretum has plantings of more than fifty tree species from all over the world since the 1920s and 30s. Two short walking tracks pass through the arboretum and surrounding native forest. A picturesque place to enjoy a picnic and to see some of the most significant sculptures on the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail. Located approximately 25 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Apple Thief Ciderhouse
With a reputation for the best apples in Australia, it makes sense that we should have a local cider brewery too. Apple Thief Ciderhouse is located just 4 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay and is a fantastic spot to stop for cider tastings, a light meal, or a coffee and to check out the range of locally grown produce, vinegars, and preserves.
Crafty Cider
Crafty Cider is another of our fabulous local cider breweries offering a cellar door experience every weekend from 11am to 4pm. It also shares its location with SMART Animal Sanctuary and Rehoming Centre and is located approximately 17 mins from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Courabyra Wines
Restaurant, cellar door, and wedding and event location, Courabyra wines offers vineyard tours, helicopter experiences, and much more. Known for their reds, whites, and sparkling wines, Courabyra wines is a must visit for all wine and food lovers. Located just 30 mins from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Johansen Wines
A cellar door experience located inside the original shearing shed on the property, Johansen Wines is a family owned and run vineyard and home to one of the Sculpture Trail sculptures. Located just 35 mins from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Obsession Wines
Obsession Wines offers a cellar door experience 7 days a week between 11am and 4pm and has been featured in a number of travel and food magazines and TV shows. It’s recommended that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Located approximately 50 mins from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
Mouat’s Farm
Originally an apple and cherry orchard in the early 1920s, Mouat’s Farm shop offers fresh fruit, eggs, homemade jams and more. A great spot to stock up for a picnic, pick up a few snacks, or buy a thoughtful gift for a loved one at home. Located just 3 mins drive from Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat.
The Inconvenience Store

Batlow CiderFest
Coincide your visit with the annual Batlow CiderFest where you can sample the best boutique ciders from across Australia as well as local craft brews and cold climate wines. With food, cider tastings, live entertainment, market stalls, and more – it’s the event of the Batlow calendar and well worth a visit.
Falling Leaf Festival
Celebrating Autumn, the Falling Leaf Festival has been operating for 70 years and features live music, food, drinks, kids entertainment, a fun run, live theatre, cultural and creative workshops, comedy gala, street parade, and much more. Usually taking place in late April.
TumbaFest
