Make Your Own Drum Lampshade – 8th March 2026.

Brindabella Farm Stay Retreat in association with Bev Nichol of 2 BlueWrens Bespoke Lampshade, Yass, will present a Make Your Own Drum Lampshade workshop.

Learn how to make your own 30 cm bespoke drum lampshade with a contrast lining fabric.

In this workshop you will be guided through the process of making a lampshade using your own individual fabrics.  Alternatively, you can make your own Drum Lampshade without a contrast lining.

Learn the skills needed to create a professionally finished lampshade- no previous experience required.

All materials and tools on the day (except your fabrics) will be supplied.

Fabrics required to bring need to be lightweight cotton- cotton linen blend. (no stretch or satin fabric).  If making a lined lampshade, please ensure your lining fabric is a lightweight cotton- the weight used in patchwork.

Dimensions of fabrics – 1 metre 20 cm wide x 60 cm length of outer fabric.

Lining Fabric –  1 metre 20 cm  wide  x 60 cm  of lining fabric.

Please bring your fabric pre-cut to the required measurements and ironed ensuring no creases remain. This will ensure the workshops commence on time.

When choosing your fabrics a plain colour for the outside and a patterned fabric for the lining makes a beautiful combination and can make it easier when trying to choose fabrics that complement each other.  Alternatively, you could use this shade as a pendant light to hang from your ceiling.

Bev will also have a selection of fabrics that can be purchased prior to the workshop.
